Old Technology
I own a suprising amount of things
I've been cleaning my room pretty hard lately. Organizing, sweeping, dusting (I hate dusting so much), etc. There's also been a lot of devices. From old phones, to game consoles, to even a few nifty cameras I did not think would still work. I've had almost all of them stores away but since I've been cleaning my room I felt a bit...Nostalgic. That cursed word, I know. Soooo, I had a fun lil idea. What if I talked about all the old shit I have? Preserved all on this website page. Felt like the right thing to do, idk.
I'd say only about half of these relics actually work properly still. Some do "work" but only if I had left them on the charger while in-use.
Game Consoles (and handhelds)
- Playstation 2 (Slim)
- Nintendo Wii (First Edition I believe)
- Aqua Blue Nintendo 3DS
- Black PSP (2000 Version)
- Playstation Vr
My first console. This is ignoring the fact that I owned a leapfrog console before this (if i find it, i'll def add it to this page). I can't remember exactly when I recieved the ps2 but it might have been around 4-5 years old. My first game that I slightly remember playing on it was the original ratchet and clank. Due to my age, I couldn't beat the first two missions BUT, it was a core memory of mine still. Years after, I started getting more and more games. The Cars Videogame and Madagascar Videogame (Both peak), Thrillville: Off The rails, Tony Hawk Underground, Etc Etc. Unfortunately, due to some moving, we ended up losing almost all of my ps2 games. I blame my dad, obviously. Regardless, two games survived. Need for Speed: Underground and Spongebob Squarepants: Atlantis Squarepantis. Both, Peak. So I guess it wasn't that bad of a loss. I still have my memory card though, so I could just rebuy the games I lost. I'll uh, try that when I have the funds though.
My Second console ever. For awhile the only game I had for it was wii sports, wii fit and super mario galaxy 2. From what I remember, I really didn't use it much until I had lost my ps2 games and moved to the home I currently live in today. From that point on, it was just aloooot of just dance. Seriously, my sisters and i were obsessed with that game. Practically got 5 stars in all the songs. Along with that, alot of legend of zelda skyward sword and mario kart wii. I had my fair share of third party games too, but not as much as I thought I had. Once I got the wii u, I was on there way more, since I could just move all my wii data to it and play all the wii games there instead. In hindsight, I should have at least checked to see if the data copied instead of moved, since I ended up selling the wii u to fund my switch purchase. Leading me to, yes, lose all my wii data. Yea. Not a fun feeling when I realized that. It still works, and I still would like to mod it one of these days.
Truth is, I had a Nintendo Ds before my 3ds. I did lose it though. At Disney World. In Magic Kingdom. On Space Mountain. Yep. Yea. Sad times. Alas, I got the 3ds around the time it released (weak starting lineup). I had a few games to start. Mainly just Street Fighter 4 3d edition and this pacman galaga combo pack (The combo pack was super pretty in 3d). It was those two for awhile until I finally got The legend of zelda: Ocarina of time 3d. Yes, the first time I ever played and beat OoT was on 3ds. Honestly. Best way to play it. The controls were way better and the 3d was, once again, pretty cool. I remember playing around with every single feature on it. The face shooters game, the AR camera app, and my all-time favorite: streetpass. Streetpass was like, one of the best parts of owning it. Seeing the green square light up was extremely exciting every single time I took my 3ds with me (along with it also counting all your steps too). I got to play the puzzle and fantasy game that came attached with streetpass early on and it was just a real treat. I've had my 3ds for going on over a decade now. I recently modded it actually! (here's a link. It's surprisingly easy) I haven't added any games yet but I plan on it. I mainly play on consoles nowadays but the handhelds will always hold a special place for all the fun moments I had with them.
So this was my first handheld ever, and man. I loved this thing. It still works believe it or not, but it does hard reset everytime I turn it off so yea, that's an issue. Still, I never had too many games for my psp. Mainly demos and little videos I can watch on it. Main game I played was final fantasy dissidia and atv offroad fury blazin trails. The soundtrack from both games is practically ingrained in my head. Due to none of the memory being stored, I have no clue what other games I had but I do eventually want to buy a completely new psp to play the games I have on. They sell a few on ebay frequently so it's just taking the time to save some money up and make the purchase. For now though, this piece of my childhood will do.
